Publix Super Markets, Inc. Chooses Axway to Improve and Secure Mission-Critical Data Exchanges

Publix Selects Axway’s Managed File Transfer Solution to Strengthen Visibility and Efficiency of Communications Between Headquarters and 1000 Stores

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Feb. 11, 2009 – Axway, the leading global provider of multi-enterprise solutions and infrastructure, today announced that Publix Super Markets, Inc. has selected Axway Transfer to enable the movement of transactional data between their stores and corporate environment.  This solution will increase operational efficiency and Axway Sentinel will provide end-to-end monitoring and real-time visibility. Both products are powered by Axway’s Synchrony™ framework.

Publix will use Axway Transfer as an integrated platform to communicate with more than 1000 stores, transmitting key "store-to-corporate" operational data. Axway Sentinel will provide Publix with both technical and business activity monitoring (BAM) to ensure that all store-to-corporate communication is completed on time to support key business processes.

Publix selected Axway’s solutions to upgrade their existing file transfer infrastructure with the goal of secure, reliable data exchanges of large files and to gain visibility. The Axway solutions will allow Publix to monitor and manage data activity, including scheduled transfers, confirmations of receipt, and suspension of transfers.  The solutions complement Publix’s existing implementation of Axway’s business-to-business (B2B) gateway technology.

“For true operational efficiency, it’s critical to have a secure infrastructure that streamlines the “one-to-many” data exchanges that drive the retail supply chain – spanning stores, manufacturers, and franchises,” said Dave Bennett, chief technology officer at Axway.  “Companies like Publix, who are committed to operational efficiency, trust Axway’s solutions to provide visibility, flexibility and security as they move data inside and outside their enterprises.”
